From Plymouth Gin to Fever Tree Tonic Finding the Answers in the Tonic and not just the Gin)
Themen: Mixology Main Stage
One of the most important moments in the modern Gin movement ironically is not centered around gin but on TONIC! With an abundance of great gins on the market, one of the spirit’s classic cocktails – The G&T – has not always delivered. It was a gin entrepreneur, the man who reintroduced Plymouth Gin from virtual obscurity back into the spirits world, who first noticed the need for better tonic. In 2005 Charles Rolls, along with his partner Tim Warrillow, launched Fever-Tree and has led it to becoming one of the most successful brands of the past two decades. A great idea is just the beginning of an entrepreneur’s adventure, turning that idea into a successful business is where the challenge lies. Fords Gin’s Simon Ford will host an inquisitive chat with Rolls and try to learn a trick or two from Fever-Tree’s Co-founder and Deputy Chairman. Learn Rolls’ insights, inspirations, risks, successes, failures and why in April 2000 he realized that the world needed a better tonic instead of another gin.
