- There are about 1000 Spätis in Berlin
- the East Side Gallery is the longest open-air gallery in the world and, at 1.316 kilometres, also the longest preserved piece of the Berlin Wall. The section was painted in 1990 by 118 artists from 21 countries with 106 works. Many of the artists returned to Berlin in 2009 to freshen up their artwork. In April 2014, artists, Berliners, and visitors to Berlin joined forces to remove graffiti from the Wall paintings, which are protected as historical monuments.
- Berlin is not only the largest, but also the greenest metropolis in Germany. Almost 32 percent of the total area of 892 square kilometers is green and wooded. The streets are lined with around 440,000 trees. 2,500 parks and green spaces offer recreation for Berliners and Berlin guests. In addition, 915 allotment garden colonies with over 73,000 gardens are located within the city.
- the International Berlin Beer Festival is a record holder: with 2.2 km along Karl-Marx-Allee it is considered the "longest beer garden in the world". In 2015, more than 340 breweries from 87 countries took part with 2,400 beer specialities on the route between Straußberger Platz and Frankfurter Tor.
