Where does the name Bar Convent come from?
The Latin word "convenire" means "gathering". At Bar Convent Berlin people from all over the world are gathering to celebrate bar culture. The convent was designed for communication and knwoledge transfer. With about 90 talks, seminars and tasings Bar Convent Berlin is a mixture of congress and trade show.
What's the founding year of Bar Convent Berlin?
Bar Convent Berlin took place for the first time in September 2007. It was a small boutique event with 16 exhibitors and about 1.000 visitors. We've come a long way since then. Berlin will see the 12th Bar Convent Berlin in October 2018 with over 10.000 visitors expected and up to 900 exhibiting brands. Due to the great demand, we extend the BCB to three days.
Who is behind Bar Convent Berlin?
Bar Convent Berlin is organized by Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH. Managing directors of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH are Hans-Joachim Erbel, Michael Freter und André Weijde.
Why are we going to extend the Bar Convent Berlin to three days?
Due to the high demand, we extend the Bar Convent Berlin in 2018 to three days (7. - 9. October 2019). This will allow more visitors the entrance to the Bar Convent Berlin.

Do I have to register for seminars at Bar Convent Berlin 2019?
No, it's "first come - first served" for all seminars, talks and tastings. Just make sure you get a seat by showing up early. Tickets for Bar Convent Berlin entitle you to go to all tastings and seminars as long as there are enough seats left.
In which language are the seminars going to be held?
Around 95% of all seminars and tastings are going to be held by international speakers in English. There are a couple of specific regional topics that are held in German.
How much are tickets for Bar Convent Berlin 2019?
This year you are only able to buy one-day tickets. We are going to publish pur prices in spring.
Subscribers of the (German) print magazine Mixology, Magazin of Bar culture, are entitled for a discounted day-ticket if they buy it online. If you're a subscriber you need to provide your subscriber number in the buying process, which is your personal voucher. If you don't know your subscriber number you can contact mixology@barconvent.de. Please, keep in mind that six weeks before the show new subscriptions can't be considered anymore.
What is Mixology Magazine?
Mixology, magazine of bar culture, is published every two months and was founded in 2003. The magazine covers all sorts of topics revolving around bar. You can find it in sorted book stores and newsagents or get it delivered straight to your home or bar by buying a subscription. Mixology Magazine is one of the official partner magazines of Bar Convent Berlin. The German trade magazine was founded by two of Bar Convent Berlin's shareholders, Jens Hasenbein and Helmut Adam.

Who are the visitors of Bar Convent Berlin?
Bar Convent Berlin is a trade fair. It's NOT a consumer show. Visitors are mainly bar and restaurant managers/owners, bartenders, distributors, beverage and spirit manufactures and specialist suppliers. Every visitor need to do a trade visitor legitimation.
