The choice was an obvious one – a bartender with deep roots in Berlin’s bar scene, someone who is an expert at his craft and well versed in premium products and hospitality, and a vocal proponent of international exchange. Damien Guichard, bar manager at the Truffle Pig since 2019, is Bar Convent Berlin’s first Brand Ambassador.

Final Report: “Tasty, amazing, fantastico, formidable, comunicativo” – these are some of things said by the 15,162 visitors who travelled to the BCB in Berlin from 86 countries to test new creations, do business, generate knowledge or simply meet their friends in the global community. Never before had so many countries been represented at the BCB. The Bar Convent Berlin has been the most important international event for the bar and spirits industry for twelve years now.

The BCB is moving to a new home: Berlin ExpoCenter City. Following stays in Berlin’s ‘Glashaus’, the ‘Postbahnhof am Ostbahnhof’ and ‘Station Berlin’, the event will have a new home beneath the Funkturm starting in 2020.

Bar Convent Berlin is the world’s largest drinks trade show, bringing together global bar owners, bartenders, distributors and manufactures from approximately 80 countries. An impressive 446 exhibitors are bringing 1,200 drinks brands to Berlin, including over 160 gins, more than 100 liqueurs, 90 rums, over 40 tequilas and mezcals, and 69 bitters, vermouths and aperitifs. With such a diverse range of products represented, Bar Convent Berlin is a microcosm of the industry and the perfect place to spot the next big trends. Here are four of the biggest to look out for at the 2019 show.

Salvatore Calabrese, Jeffrey Morgenthaler, Kirsten Holm, Shatbi Basu, Steve Schneider and Tobin Ellis – each one of them is a legend in their own right. From 7 to 9 October they, like other global influencers, will share their unique experiences with visitors at Bar Convent Berlin. Over three days a programme in a class of its own will be offered with more than 120 hours of content on eight stages.

From 7 to 9 October 2019 Bar Convent Berlin will show why coffee has now stopped living in the shadows and is increasingly moving into the limelight at bars.

There are 9,149 kilometres between BCB and this year’s country of honour. From 7 to 9 October Mauritius will be bringing its rum diversity to Berlin. The exhibitors from this island state will present themselves at Kühlhaus, which will serve as the “House of Rum”.
