Cucumber is one of those ingredients that might call for a little eye roll. It seems that they got kicked off cocktail bar menus anywhere between 2015 and 2020 after being exploited for all kinds of Moscow Mules or highball variations. Well guess what - I love cucumber in cocktails and dang you nerds for snubbing it, because today we are making a cucumber martini. 

As you all know by now cucumber is mostly water and most of the flavour is in its skin which is why we are going to use the entirety of our cucumber (well except for that tiny bit I will cut off in the video *spoiler alert*).

As you probably know by now I’m a big fan of pre batched cocktails and an even bigger fan of pre diluted ones. At Wax On we pour our menu Martinis straight out of the freezer, from the bottle to make sure they come out filthy cold and smooth. Which is why we are going to juice our cucumber and use some of the juice as dilution in our Freezer Martini.

This one is pretty simple: simply juice your cucumber and filter it in a coffee filter. Once that’s done, you’re ready to mix a tasty little drinky.

Freezer Martini 

Specs for one drink:

  • 40 ml Vodka   
  • 20 ml Gin         
  • 15 ml Cucumber Juice
  • 10 ml umeshu
  • 2.5 ml Muyu Vetiver
  • 5 drops peach
  • 1 drop saline
  • 20 ml water

For a 500ml bottle

  • 180 ml Vodka
  • 90 ml Gin
  • 67.5 ml Cucumber Juice
  • 10 ml Umeshu
  • 2.5 ml Muyu Vetiver
  • 20 drops Peach Bitters
  • 4 drops Saline
  • 90 ml Water
